Gerdau to dismantle Petrobras platform for scrap
Gerdau has been awarded a contract for the dismantling and recycling of the Petrobras P-33 platform in Campo de Marlin, Kallanish learns.
The steelmaker estimates that it will recover around 45,000 tonnes of scrap. The material will feed Gerdau Charqueadas' output. The plant produces special steels mainly used in the automotive industry. The unit has an annual output capacity of 430,000t.
