Brazil’s scrap exports surge in August, imports dip
Brazil’s ferrous scrap exports increased in August, Kallanish notes. Shipments also remained higher year-on-year.
According to the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (Mdic), scrap exports reached 64,700 tonnes in August, compared with 58,400t in the previous month and 30,900t in August 2022. This is the second-largest tonnage supplied abroad in the last 3 years since the 97,300t in September 2020 and April’s 82,400t.
