Chile’s nine-month steel consumption recovers, outlook positive

Chilean steel consumption was stable year-on-year in the first nine months of 2023, according to the national steel institute ICHA. Domestic demand is expected to rise throughout the year and then move slightly downward in 2024. The market is expected to absorb 2.37 million tonnes in 2023.
