Chinese scrap rebounds on tight supply
The Chinese scrap market has recovered after the Labour Day holiday, with arrivals falling short of demand.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 3,913/tonne ($586/t), including VAT. This is CNY 2/t higher from Thursday and CNY 19/t higher compared with the previous Friday.
