Chinese early-January long steel offers jump
Chinese construction long product prices have risen at the beginning of the new year, in particular for rebar, Kallanish notes.
The three major longs steelmakers in eastern China have increased rebar prices by CNY 100-150/tonne ($15-23/t) in the first ten days of January. At the same time, prices of high-speed wire rod and rebar in coil were also lifted by CNY 20-150/t (see table below).
