Chinese scrap gains in recovering market
Scrap prices in China were slowly rising as mills resume production, but rapid changes in demand have left the market in turmoil.
On Friday, Kallanish assessed 6mm+ heavy scrap delivered to mills in eastern China's Yangtze River Delta at CNY 2,737/tonne ($389/t), including VAT. This is CNY 4/t higher from Thursday and up CNY 18/t from the previous Friday.
