Chinese steel futures slump
Chinese rebar futures prices flattened overnight on the Shanghai Futures Exchange on Tuesday/Wednesday and then dived over CNY 100/tonne ($15.32/t) within the last half hour on Wednesday, Kallanish notes.
Hot rolled coil futures meanwhile began to weaken overnight and dipped further at the end of the day. HRC futures had been increasing since last Friday and Wednesday marked day-on-day fall for the first time in September.
