Chinese steel prices strong as HRC optimism grows

Spot steel prices in Shanghai have continued to increase week-on-week but there is a growing divergence between rebar and hot rolled coil. While rebar traders reported low levels of trading, HRC traders hiked prices on Friday and halted trading as they expect further gains next week, Kallanish notes.
