Chinese wire rod prices rebound in ASEAN
Chinese wire rod prices have shot up again, in tandem with the Chinese steel market rebound, Kallanish notes. As quickly as prices came down last week, offers have now gone back up again, market sources say.
Offer prices for China-origin mesh-grade 6.5mm diameter SAE 1008 wire rod for April/May shipment are prevailing at $520/tonne cfr Manila, unchanged from last Thursday. These are widely believed to be Chinese exports shipped without full payment of VAT.
