CIS output decreases in December, surges in 2021
CIS crude steel production decreased in December, according to the latest worldsteel data monitored by Kallanish. Regional output amounted to 8.9 million tonnes, down by 3% year-on-year.
In full-year 2021, CIS crude steel production thus rose 5.6% on-year to 105.6mt.
Russian production last month is estimated to have been flat on-year at 6.6mt. Cumulative steel output was 76mt, up 6.1%.
