Construction downturn hammers Polish consumption, production also plummets

Polish steel consumption sunk to a multi-year low in 2023 of 11.8 million tonnes, down 11% on-year, with long products leading the decline amid the construction industry crisis, Polish Union of Steel Distributors (PUDS) president Iwona Dybal said at a meeting in Warsaw on Tuesday.
