DGFT seeks NMDC as mineral trade canalising agent
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has written to India’s steel ministry seeking their opinion on the appointment of NMDC as a canalising agency for mineral exports, says the Trade Promotion Council of India.
Canalisation of import and export refers to the importing and exporting of commodities through specified government agencies, which previously included the State Trading Corporation of India (STC) and MMTC, Kallanish notes.
