Egypt's major mills hike domestic rebar prices
Egyptian mills have continued to raise their domestic rebar prices on the depreciating local currency and growing steelmaking raw materials prices.
Ezz and Suez Steel have each increased their domestic rebar prices by EGP 1,000/tonne ($33.5) on the previous round of quotes to EGP 26,895/t ($791) and EGP 26,850/t ($789) respectively ex-works. This is the second hike since the start of the new year, Kallanish notes.
