Eramet foresees higher Weda Bay nickel ore output
French miner Eramet plans foresees an increase in nickel ore output in Indonesia this year through its Weda Bay project.
The company plans to mine more than 3 million tonnes of nickel ore at Weda Bay. The nickel from the project will be supplied to the joint venture smelter run jointly by Eramet and China's Tsingshan Group. This is expected to start producing and processing nickel pig iron in the first half of this year, Kallanish notes.
