Eramet sells first Weda Bay production
French miner Eramet is selling 7,000 tonnes of nickel ferroalloy for the first time, produced by the Indonesian Weda Bay nickel plant. This is a 57:43 joint venture between Tsingshan and Eramet, Kallanish learns from the company.
A first cargo bought by Chinese customers was shipped on 17 September, Eramet reveals in a note. Mining operations at Weda Bay started in October 2019. After 20 months of construction, the plant carried out its first tapping on 30 April. …
