Indian crude steel production falls amid coal shortage
Indian crude steel production declined 3% on-month to 9.55 million tonnes in September, against 9.86mt in August, according to worldsteel data. The nation’s direct reduced iron output plunged 6% to 2.99mt, against 3.18mt a month earlier.
India produced 87.29mt of crude steel in January-September, up by 23% on-year, Kallanish notes.
