JSW eyes Australian Blackwater coal mine stake: reports
JSW Steel is in discussions to acquire a 20% stake in the Blackwater coal mine, an asset owned by Australia’s Whitehaven Coal, according to Indian press reports.
The Blackwater mine, situated in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, is one of the largest open-cut coking coal producers in the region.
It is projected to yield an average of 14.8 million tonnes/year of saleable coking coal over the next five years, Kallanish notes.
