Italian steel output continues to fall
Italian crude steel output fell by 14.7% year-on-year in January to 1.5 million tonnes, according to data issued by local steelmakers association Federacciai.
Flat steel production tumbled by 17.7% to 749,000t last month. Longs output also fell, by 19.7% to 767,000t, Kallanish notes.
Italian crude steel output declined by 11.5% y-o-y in 2022 to 21.6mt. Flats production tumbled 13.8% to 9.5mt, while longs output fell by 12% to 12mt, Federacciai says.
