Italian steel output declines
Italian crude steel output fell in May after a series of declines seen in previous months followed by a small hike in April, according to data issued by local steelmakers association Federacciai.
Last month, crude steel production declined by 0.6% year-on-year to 2.1 million tonnes, and by 1.9% on-year over the first five months of 2022 to 10.3mt, Kallanish notes.
Italian flat steel production also tumbled in May, by 14.8% to 871,000t, and by 1.5% in January-May …
