JFE upgrades No.4 blast furnace at Kurashiki plant
Japan's JFE Steel has completed the upgrade of the No.4 blast furnace at its Kurashiki steel plant of the West Japan Works, in order to improve the operating efficiency of the equipment. The BF is expected to achieve normal production in the following two weeks, with around 3.8 million tonnes/year of hot metal capacity, Kallanish notes.
