JSPL achieves coke self-sufficiency following battery commissioning
Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) has commissioned a fourth coke oven battery at its Angul steelworks, making it self-sufficient in the steelmaking feedstock.
The coke oven consists of four batteries each with a 45,000 tonnes/month production capacity, giving an overall annual capacity of 2 million t/y. The plant feeds coke to India’s largest, 4,554 cubic metre blast furnace at Angul, as well as to two blast furnaces at the Raigarh works.
