JSPL exports record tonnage despite Indian Covid-19 lockdown
Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) saw exports surge 109% on-year in April to 248,000 tonnes. This was its highest-ever monthly tonnage and achieved during India’s Covid-19 lockdown.
Despite the nationwide lockdown affecting end-use sector activity and logistics, JSPL grew steel and granulated pig iron production 5% on-year in April to 550,000t. Consolidated sales, including its Oman plant, were 655,000t.
