LatAm August steel shipments to US remain weak
Latin American steel exports to the US decreased month-on-month in August. They also remained weaker year-on-year, mainly as a result of lower supplies from Brazil, Kallanish notes.
According to preliminary data issued by the US Census Bureau, exports to the US from Latin America were almost 11.8% lower on-month at 550,465 tonnes in August. This volume was down 54,955t y-o-y. The value of these exports was $554.3 million. Eight-month US-bound shipments total…
