Mexico’s Ahmsa declares mining unit bankrupt
Altos Hornos de México (Ahmsa) says its Minera del Norte (MN) subsidiary has been declared bankrupt. This follows the cancellation of thermal coal supplies to Mexican state-owned electricity company Comisión Federal de Electricidad (CFE), Kallanish notes.
In a stock exchange statement, Ahmsa explains the situation does not affect the company in any way.
