MMK strip trim system to reduce costs
Russian steelmaker MMK has completed a strip trim optimisation system and put it into commercial operation at the hot rolling mill of sheet-rolling shop No.10.
This will reduce consumption of steel as well as emergency shutdowns at the hot rolling mill 2000, Kallanish notes. The expected economic effect from the introduction of the system should be at least RUB 35 million ($600,000) per year.
