MMK Metalurji's sales drop on feedstock delays
MMK Metalurji's output and sales fell in the first quarter versus Q4 2020, but increased on-year, reflecting a low 2020 base affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns curbing industrial activity.
The steelmaker uses hot rolled coil supplies from the principal MMK Russian Magnitogorsk plant, and unscheduled repairs coupled with severe adverse weather conditions in ports resulted in a shortage of feedstock supply in Q1.
