MMK will rebuild oldest BF in 2020
Russian steelmaker MMK will embark on rebuilding its oldest, No.2 "Komsomolka" blast furnace in 2020, the company says in a note seen by Kallanish.
The modernisation of the furnace that was launched shortly after MMK's commissioning in 1932 and rebuilt in 2000 will radically lower emissions while producing up to 4,000 tonnes/day of pig iron.
