Nucor orders spooler, billet welder for Utah mill
Nucor Steel has ordered a new billet welder and spooler for its Plymouth, Utah, facility from Italian equipment supplier Danieli.
The new equipment will boost the line’s rebar capacity to 250,000 tonnes/year in sizes ranging from #3-8.
Danieli is also assisting in upgrading the facility’s reheat furnace, Kallanish notes.
Commissioning is slated for the fourth quarter of 2021.
