Pakistan mills hike steel prices on costlier inputs
Owing to costlier hot rolled coil, coupled with surging electricity prices, Pakistan-based mills have hiked their quotes for cold rolled coil, galvanized coil, colour-coated coil and rebar.
International Steels (ISL) has hiked CRC prices to PKR 245,700/tonne ($1,379.52) for 2mm-2.5mm, effective 5 March. This includes 17% sales tax. Quotes for 1.90mm down to 1mm CRC are pegged at PKR 245,700-247,455/t and for 0.90mm down to 0.25mm at PKR 248,859-258,570/t.
