Pakistan mills hike rebar quotes on feedstock shortage
Amid scrap shortages coupled with the depreciating Pakistani rupee and hikes in energy tariffs and fuel prices, all major Pakistani steel mills have raised their rebar quotes. This follows the previous hikes implemented after the energy tariff hikes earlier this month.
Agha Steel increased quotes for 10mm and 12mm rebar to PKR 287,500/tonne ($948.49) ex-works and for 16mm and above rebar to PKR 285,500/t ex-works, effective 28 August.
