Plate prices in US market hold
Plates stayed firm this week despite slow sales, Kallanish learns. Plate prices for the week of 17 August are $1,760-1,810/short ton, ex-works, domestic mill.
“Business has slowed dramatically. There's talk about financial issues at the Chinese plate mills, which could have an effect down the road,” a distribution source explains.
