Plate prices remain stable in US
US plate prices held between $1,460-1,490/short ton for the fifth consecutive week in the week beginning 26 December. This is down from the week of 28 December, 2021, when prices ranged from $1,830-1,880/st, reports Kallanish.
“No new market info. It’s very quiet this week,” a distribution source says.
Earlier this fall, sources speculated that plate prices might drop when Nucor’s Brandenberg plate facility became operational.
