Protectionism further delays MMK Metalurji meltshop relaunch
MMK Metalurji has again postponed the relaunch of its hot end due to the surge in global trade barriers this year, and will re-evaluate the situation in November, according to Andrey Eremin, Director for Economics at Russian parent MMK.
MMK’s Turkish unit considered last year restarting its 2.3 million tonnes/year electric arc furnace, idled in 2012, but chose not to go ahead with the move (see Kallanish passim).
