Russia reduces steel, pipe output in Q1
Russia decreased steel production in March, according to data from domestic analytical company Chermet.
The country’s steelmakers produced 6.3 million tonnes of crude steel, down 3.3% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. Rolled products output amounted to 5.5mt, which is 5.1% less versus March 2023.
January-March steel output amounted to 18.3mt, down by 2.1% on-year. Rolled production decreased by 2.4% to 15.7mt.
