Russian steel strategy eyes infrastructure stimulation, export reorientation
Russian’s new steel industry strategy will focus on stimulating the consumption of metal products in the domestic market through major infrastructure projects, Kallanish notes.
These include the expansion of the Baikal-Amur Mainline, the construction of highways, and new oil and gas pipelines (see Kallanish passim).
