Sail posts record profit, rise in steel output
Steel Authority of India (Sail)’s crude steel production rose 15% on-year to 1.44 million tonnes in September. The steel company produced 4.468mt of crude steel in the September quarter, Kallanish notes.
Hot metal production grew 12% on-year to 1.55mt and saleable steel production rose 23% to 1.47mt in September. Sail’s saleable steel sales totalled 1.47mt, up by 18% on-year. Quarterly sales were noted at 4.28mt through September.
