Severstal develops product, eyes high-strength steel import substitution
Severstal supplied 1,200 tonnes of special hot-rolled sheet to the Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant (NEVZ), the largest manufacturer of mainline and industrial electric locomotives in Russia, the steelmaker tells Kallanish.
NEVZ turned to Severstal with a request to produce sheets for the manufacture of sidewalls of electric locomotives with a crescent shape of no more than 6mm along the entire sheet length of 8,600mm.
