Severstal increases electric steel production to pre-sanctions levels
Russian steelmaker Severstal set a record for continuous casting in one series per tundish on a sectional continuous casting machine - 179 hours - at its Cherepovets Metallurgical Plant (CherMK), the company tells Kallanish.
During the record-breaking series in March, 25,500 tonnes of reinforcement assortment for the construction industry were poured. Today, electric steel production volumes account for 10% of the total production of liquid steel at CherMK.
