Shanghai steel futures fall again

Chinese steel futures fell back again on Wednesday as they retreated to levels seen last week. This happens despite all the positive signals coming from the domestic market, especially for rebar, Kallanish notes. On the Shanghai Futures Exchange the May rebar contract closed at CNY 3,831/tonne ($579/t), down CNY 94/t versus Tuesday, while the same contract for hot rolled coil also closed down CNY 73/t at CNY 3,914/t.
