Shougang targets electrical steel capacity expansion
China’s Shougang intends to expand electrical steel capacity because of the rapid growth in demand brought by new energy vehicles, according to Shougang technical expert Hu Zhiyuan.
Shougang will add a non-oriented electrical steel production line housing 350,000 tonnes/year capacity in June this year, according to Hu’s speech at the “2022 High-end Magnetic New Material Development Forum” held by Shougang on 7 April, Kallanish notes.
