French, Belgian stainless scrap prices decline, demand low
Stainless steel scrap prices are falling month-on-month in France and Belgium, in line with all European countries. This is happening despite continued shortages, Kallanish notes.
Sources confirm that this month there was not much demand for 304 or 316 grades, especially amid production stoppages at both flat and long steel mills. This coupled with lower prices of raw materials is causing values to decline.
