Chinas steel consumption falls in 2014, CISA confirms
China’s apparent steel consumption on a crude steel equivalent basis fell 3.4% in 2014 to 738.3 million tonnes in 2014, according to the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA). The figure matches almost exactly the previous calculation by Kallanish that apparent finished steel consumption fell 3.35% to 702.22mt.
On a crude steel equivalent basis the Kallanish figure would be 739mt.
