Sukha Balka to increase ore production by 20%
Ukraine's Sukha Balka, part of DCH Steel, plans to increase production of iron ore by 20% on-year to 1.134 million tonnes in 2024, says the mine’s chief engineer, Igor Piltek.
In 2023, Sukha Balka produced about 931,000 tonnes of commercial iron ore (see Kallanish passim). The mine operated in maximum resource conservation mode last year amid the war in Ukraine. It shipped 98% of its products for export.
