Tangshan billet market fundamentals improve slightly
Re-rollers actively purchased cheap billet in Tangshan as steel futures held steady on Monday after last week's slump. However, no one is chasing prices higher amid poor margins and fragile sentiment.
Kallanish assessed Tangshan billet spot prices at CNY 3,390/tonne ($471/t) on Monday afternoon, down CNY 80/t on-week. The May rebar contract on Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) fell CNY 91/t over the same period.
