Tata, BHP sign low-carbon steelmaking pact
Tata Steel has signed a memorandum of understanding with BHP to jointly explore lower carbon iron and steelmaking technology. The companies aim to reduce emissions intensity of the blast furnace steel route by using biomass as a source of energy and the application of carbon capture and utilisation (CCU) in steel production.
