European tube prices to rise on costly HRC
Italian and European welded tube prices are set to increase in January, pushed up by the latest hikes in hot rolled coil values and high processing costs, Kallanish hears.
Tube discounts are continuing to decrease as Italian re-rollers managed to recover around €100/tonne ($109) compared to the beginning of November. However, values continue to lag behind the steep HRC rises seen in contracts and steelmakers’ asking prices.
