Costlier billet benefits integrated UAE rebar suppliers
Elevated billet imported prices coupled with supply shortages in United Arab Emirates are giving integrated mills an advantage amid subdued rebar prices. The gap between the benchmark mill and secondary mills’ rebar prices in the retail market has narrowed to AED 60-80/tonne ($15-21) from the typical AED 100/t, Kallanish notes.
