Ukraine steel consumption falls in January-February, exports surge
Ukraine reduced consumption of steel products, including rolled and semi-finished products, in January-February, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
The volume amounted to 493,300 tonnes, down by 24.9% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Two-month steel imports were around 171,200t, up 31.4% on-year, thus accounting for 46.2% of domestic market rolled steel consumption.
