US construction employments grows in 80% of metros
US construction employment rose in 80% of polled US metro areas between August 2017 and August 2018, Kallanish learns from the Associated General Contractors of America.
Employment ticked up in 287 of 358 total metro areas, led by the Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land, Texas, corridor with 28,900 jobs, or a gain of 13%. The association notes that much of this gain was related to Hurricane Harvey rebuilding efforts and energy sector demand.
