US imports fall from top countries-of-origin
US steel imports from its top countries-of-origin slumped in February, ahead of President Donald Trump’s 232 tariff announcement, Kallanish reports.
Total US import fell from January’s final count of 2.61 million tonnes to 2.24mt in February’s license figures.
The US’ top three trading partners – Canada, Brazil and Mexico, in that order – all registered decreases.
